My experience as a kindergarten parent

Anything goes, and Atom, for breakfast chef mom and I get to work and then my daughter. His dark oh thirsty in the morning and not only did I cook for breakfast, but I made my wife and daughter outside their institutions of work and school.

But not all, I have to take care of a child of three years and the adoption. I have for this position and I will fulfill my mission of leading and managing the success of my family and the bestQuality of life: I can give them.

We can both sides agree, there has been some years since your last visit kindergarten. In fact it took me a long time since I took over the asylum and I will not tell you how old it was.

My wife and I enrolled our daughter in kindergarten last year and was looking forward to their visit, learn and make new friends. The first day of school after learning, teachers my daughter has been assigned, as wasTime they leave school to go and leave our daughter was with us, so he started the trip, a father of a kindergarten student Century 21.

The fact of the matter is, I had to learn a lot about the school system, driving in my daughters school, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and of course teachers. I had no idea that I was a member of the PTA to be a leader, but since I was in my element contribute.

Unfortunately I was only one ofVery few parents to volunteer my time and efforts to improve the school my daughters. There are 400 students, that my daughters are no listings in elementary school less than 10 parents to participate and serve or to join the PTA.

As a member of the PTA has helped me learn the disruption of the functioning of the school of my daughters, and we have benefited immensely. I left my daughter from school and I wake up every day here. I visit with my daughters teachers talk to the school's director, meeting withtheir entire class to his birthday party and attend some of their excursions.

To find one of the most interesting is, all students in the class my daughter call me Mr. Vann, but my father call me their daughters. When I went to school and adults are addressed as Lord and Lady, now students and their parents with the names of their children.

I heard several years before me, to be known as the father of my children. First day of your child's school Big

Send your child to school can be just as difficult for you as it is for your children. However, it is necessary that the day should start with the tears in the eyes of others. You and your child prepare for the big day, the day when things began to him to learn a great future.

You can prepare your child and yourself for the big day from:

Or school and talk about all the fun that will. Sound enthusiastic. Talk to friends whowill meet and discuss who thinks his teacher.

Or take it to school. Most schools have an orientation day long on other children so they are familiar with the surroundings, and not as a show strangers the first day they go to school feeling.

or build his confidence. No matter what, you will always be there for him.

Or show him the place for him, if you wait for him. Big cuddles for a great day at school, but do not expect that it continuesPast the first few weeks.

o If you get a chance, I leave well with children and teachers spend time comes, then you know that even if you do not worry it will be removed.

Making or uniform and tell him how to look good in it, will feel good about themselves and their uniforms.

Or the story of planning, a lot of fun, over lunch with new friends, exchange with other things and are followed, whichwill be waiting for him to return home.

Or it enters into a calendar, begin to wake him at that time there will be during school hours a few days before the beginning of the school year.

Once school starts, ask him how was his day and discover how much fun he had. Do not talk about what you have at home. Encouraged to attend school and tell him how you are especially proud of him.

Day Care Centers

Let your fingers do the walking in the directories where you will find under the child care, preschool and schools section a list of day care centers which take care of children when you are away at work. Call a center close to your home and inquire of payments, number of children per minder, facilities offered and any other information that may be available.

There being many government and non profit making day care centers it is important to inquire if the center is licensed by a recognized educational institution for the safety of the child. Two heads are better than one, then the need for a visit with your spouse, friend or relative to structures called narrowing of at least five centers performed.

Nurseries are growing rapidly worldwide, with the first center of the end of 1800, while in the U.S., the New York nursery, which was founded by a private charity in 1854. It 'alsoimportant to note that these centers do not only play but also centers provide a credible training to better development and growth of children who are preparing to visit the preschool and kindergarten.

Before the entry of a child for a day care facility, it is important to supervise the training of the personnel, how many children are assigned to an employee, as the smallest member of staff to children, the better. Try to see the sick-room equipment and were trainedstaff on first aid in case of a child falling ill. Always ask the child if they are comfortable and love the center as often as possible since at this tender age they do have a short memory on events.

Back to School Preparation for All Ages

If you have children, late July, August and early September represents more than summer ending, cooler weather and fall foliage. School begins once again for millions of kids across the country. Getting your child prepared, regardless of whether they are in Kindergarten or a senior in high school, is a must. Here are some tips to make the transition from several weeks of summer fun to school days and homework easier.

Children in Kindergarten - 5th grade

1. About a week before school starts, have your children go to bed at the time they will when school begins. Set their alarm or wake them up early. It's difficult for some kids to adjust to going to bed and getting up earlier after having an entire summer of sleeping in or staying up late. Many young children need to be on a schedule and preparing a week or so earlier will pay off, especially if you have a night owl or late sleeper.

2. If you have a school supply list (many school districts post them on their website or hand them out the last day of school), buy the supplies early. For the child who is not organized, this is a good way to begin the school year off on the right foot. Label everything and get the backpacks ready the night before school starts. Buy some extra supplies to keep at home if your child is one to lose or forget their pencils or markers at school. They will probably need some basic supplies for homework time. Nothing is more frustrating than sitting down to do homework and discovering the basics are missing.

3. If you have a Kindergartener, walk to school two or three days before school begins (or drive if they take a bus or you will be driving them). This helps acquaint them with what they will actually be doing that first day and can work wonders for alleviating the first-day jitters. If your child is especially anxious, ask if you can let them visit their new classroom for five or ten minutes the day before school starts. Many principals will let the Kindergarteners come to the campus prior to school starting.

Middle School

1. Many sixth graders will be attending a new school for their middle school years. Oftentimes, the campus is much bigger and can be intimidating. Of course pre-teens may not admit they are nervous, but most parents are. Suggest a bike ride over to the school sometime during August just to look around. Many middle schools conduct orientation anyway a couple of days before school actually begins, but an extra trip without all of their peers might be worthwhile.

2. Just as in elementary school, it is important, if not more so in middle school, to have all the school supplies ready, especially an organizer. Some schools make it mandatory for the students to purchase an organizer directly from the school. Get in the habit from day one of checking it and being sure homework assignments are recorded. Visit the school website and see if homework and grades will be posted on the site. This is an excellent way to stay involved with your child's progress throughout the year.

3. If your student struggles with the basics; math or language arts, consider hiring a tutor for some review sessions before and during the first semester. Also, it is quite common in middle school for students who are excelling to be moved to Honors classes sometime during the year. Being in an accelerated class is a good way to prepare a student for Advanced Placement (AP) classes in high school, which count as college credit.

HIGH SCHOOL

1. Find out when the PSAT and SAT exams will take place. If your student is not a good test taker, consider enrolling them in a test prep class. As colleges become more and more competitive, test scores make a difference. One can take the exam more than once if they are not happy with the score, so plan ahead and register early.

2. Stay tuned in to your student's school and social schedule. There is a tremendous amount of freedom in high school and even the most academically gifted students can be distracted by all of the things that are associated with the teenage years. Establish a curfew for school nights and limit the amount of time that is spent at a part-time job or involved in sports, especially if time management and study skills are not your child's forte.

3. If your son or daughter is college-bound, start doing your research and be sure to attend the college nights that many high schools sponsor. Know what is expected on college applications. It is no longer a simple process like it was for the baby boomer generation. Test scores, a formal essay, volunteer hours, and class selection in high school are all important factors in getting into college. Take advantage of the many companies that exist today solely for the purpose of assisting you and your student select the right college for them.

Regardless of the age and grade of your children, stay involved. Volunteering on any level, whether it be reading stories to your elementary aged child's second grade class, helping in the computer lab in middle school, or being on a committee for peer counseling in high school, it is important to know what is happening at the place your children spend a large part of their week. With so many parents working, many Parent Teacher Associations have their meetings in the evening, so more parents can attend. There are activities that need volunteers that do not involve daytime hours such as calling parents in the evening for a fundraiser or helping with a weekend car wash at high school.

These tips can help your children get back to school the right way and prepare them for a year of learning and fun. For additional articles on raising kids, starting a business, or educational issues go to http://www.hometutoringbusiness.com.

Classroom Management Discipline - Keeping Discipline in Your Classroom

There are a number of ways to discipline students and provide discipline to a class through classroom management. Coming up with the best discipline policies can help a great deal and allow your class to run as smoothly as possible, with fewer disruptions. Try and apply these rules to your classroom management discipline and you will be a much better teacher.

Remember that it is always easier to get easier. In other words, it is much harder for you to be easy going and then all of a sudden become a strict teacher. If you begin in a very strict way you can always easily reward the students and relax the rules.

Try to always treat each student and situation with complete fairness. Students are very aware of what is fair and they will know if you are favoring certain students or applying more discipline to others. Allow your rules to apply to everyone in the same way.

Students often act out in frustration and as a way to receive attention from their teacher. If a student is being disruptive, discipline them with as little interruption or attention as you can. Push them to get back on track without rewarding them for your time and ruining the lesson for other students.

One of the most important strategies when it comes to discipline is to deal with students in a face to face manner. You will accomplish much more by confronting students outside of the classroom and not in front of the other students. Take the student outside of the room to discuss serious manners as they will understand the consequences of their actions much more and will not be as embarrassed.

Apply these simple strategies with respect to classroom management discipline and your life will be made a lot easier, with a lot less confrontation.

How to Choose Baby Crib Furniture

Babies are such tiny creatures but there are many things we need to prepare for their arrival. Baby crib furniture is perhaps the most important thing new parents have to buy. There are several types of cribs available but the top priority in choosing one is always safety. All parents want to be sure that the furniture they buy is guaranteed to keep their precious baby safe and secure.

During their first few months, babies spend most of their time sleeping. A baby crib should be able to provide a comfortable and safe sleeping space for your baby. Parents can choose from several types of baby crib furniture including a standard crib, convertible baby crib, round crib, cradle or bassinet. They all have their own benefits and parents can determine which one they should purchase for their child.

The standard crib has a classic design that is always a good choice. Some parents may opt for a cradle or bassinet that can be used for the baby's first four or five months. Cribs and bassinets take up minimal space and may be placed in the parents' room. Convertible cribs can be transformed into a toddler bed or full size bed. It can be used from the time the child is an infant up to grade school.

When you choose a baby crib, always ensure quality and comfort. In the US, all new baby cribs must pass safety standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Older cribs manufactured before 1990 may not conform to today's safety standards.

Some cribs have been recalled due to safety issues. Check with the Consumer Product Safety Commission website to make sure that the baby crib furniture you are buying has no safety concerns.

Cribs should be baby-proofed by the manufacturers. They should not have any parts that are sharp or potentially harmful to infants.

You may want a convertible crib that your child can use even when he or she is already a toddler. Make sure the crib can be converted to the right sized bed. If your child's bedroom does not have enough room for a full size bed, you may have to look for another style that will let you use the crib for as long as possible.

Baby cribs can be purchased at a hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars. Some brands are more durable than others but the quality may not be evident until you have used the crib over a period of time. The price is not always a good indicator of quality.

In this regard, baby crib furniture reviews can be a great help to people who want to buy a high quality crib.

Logo Design For a Kindergarten Or Day Care Business

When it comes to starting up your daycare, child minding service, kindergarten business or other services targeted at children you will need a logo design.

A great logo can help you to build up brand value that you can benefit from in the long term as more and more people become familiar with your high level of service and trust and see your logo as a visual representation of your standards and values. Even in the short term, a logo will help you to stand out from your competitors with your branding and advertising, and a great design can make the difference between zero enquiries and a phone that won't stop ringing.

Lets take a look at some of the design elements that are typically included in kindergarten and daycare logos and discuss some of the logos that other child related businesses have that work well.

Businesses try to convey a message with their logo about the kind of business that they are. With businesses targeting children, or more realistically the parents of children, the logos should give a feeling of warmth, happiness, fun, friendliness, cuteness and community. It is also nice to incorporate themes of security and safety to reassure parents and good designers may be able to think of a concept that accomplishes this.

When looking through the design portfolios of several online design firms I noticed some images that companies typically incorporate into designs. One logo that used blocks with childish lettering on them caught my attention. Cartoon mascots, toys, flowers and happy faces also seem to be popular. When it comes to the images that you will use there are no rules really and you should seek inspiration from other logos but also remember that something totally original will be best for helping your kindy or daycare stand out from the others.

Obviously you will want to go for bright colors. Stay away from dull colors and remember that bright colors will be best if they are enhanced with a white background.

One idea that could work well would be to schedule an art project for a group of kids and teach them about what a logo is and ask them all to design one. You could then choose the best one and have a designer take it as a rough concept and polish it up into something more professional looking that still has a childish touch.

It is worth putting some time into thinking about a great logo design for your daycare or kindergarten so that you can have some sensible input into the design process. Give your new business the best possible chance of success by starting off with a great logo design.

Teenagers - Ways to Make Money That Make Sense

At a young age, you would want teenagers to pick up all the right habits. This really is the time when their habits, good or bad, are picked up and eventually stay with them until they grow up. Teenagers ways to make money, you would find, are many on offer, but it is important for teenagers to realize the importance to be legal in their approach to these methods.

It can be quite easy for teenagers to choose methods that are often either not legal or moral. For example, if a teenager is above 18, he may not be stopped from gambling. He could gamble either in a casino near his home or even opt for online gambling. But teenagers need to ask themselves this question - Are these opportunities meant for people to make money only? In essence, teenagers ways to make money should be more than about just money. With teenagers working at such a young age, you would find that they gain something important at this age - Experience. The experience gained by the teenagers in an early age provides sound fundamentals for them to grow up to a great professional career.

Teenagers ways to make money thus have to be a concept that has to be thought of by all teenagers. It surely is beneficial for them, and provided the approach to these methods is moral and legal, you would find that these opportunities do a lot in adding value to their lives. There is no harm in suggesting teenagers to take to these opportunities but with advice; all they need is some guidance.

Sight Words - Kindergarten

Kindergarten teachers are often looking for effective ways to teach their kindergarten students sight words. Many kindergarten teachers use different methods for teaching their student sight words such as teaching through the use of sight word games, sight word lists, and sight word activities. The appropriate method for teaching kindergartener students these important words should be determined by the teacher through assessment of age appropriateness, learning disabilities and other kindergarten student/classroom related factors.

Sight words are the most common words used in the English language. A kindergarten student should be taught these important words so they can recognize the words on "sight." These important words are the core foundation for reading and are taught in every elementary school across the United States. Kindergarten sight words lists are important for enhancing student reading. The word list is made up of words that frequently appear in preschool and kindergarten level reading material.

While there are several kindergarten sight words lists one of the most common lists is the Dolch Kindergarten Sight Word List. The Dolch Kindergarten Word List is made up of primer level words and was created by Dr. E.W. Dolch in the 1930's.

Dolch Primer or kindergarten level sight words are as follows: all, am, are, at, ate, be, black, brown, but, came, did, do, eat, four, get, good, has, he, into, like, must, new, no, now, on, our, out, please pretty, ran, ride, saw, say, she, so, son, that, there, they, this, too, under, want, was, well, went, what, white, who, will, with, yes

Selecting Memorable Kindergarten Graduation Quotes

I will share with you a personal experience of the power of kindergarten graduation ceremonies. I was graduating from university when I heard that there were problems with the ceremony. I was worried because I was away from the country and my parent was the only one trying to organize things. What happened next was quite amazing. One of the local priests came along and decided that he was going to lead the prayers and the organization.

He gave what can only be described as a marvelous speech with a ten point program to succeed. I treasured those moments and have kept them on video for my own children to see when I grow up. This gave me insight into the process of trying to created memorable graduation quotes for the kindergarten. I have decided to come up with some tips on what are the best things to do to ensure that you can handle this sensitive issue with the requisite diligence that your child would expect from you.

Keep a record of all the quotes that you used for the kindergarten graduation because the child might want to refer back to them when they are grown up or when they are just reminiscing about the occasion. If you destroy these quotes, it is highly unlikely that they will ever be recovered.
Tell the child in their own language during the kindergarten graduation what is going on and you might even want to interpret the quotes and comments that have been made. This gives them an immediate appreciation of the situation and when they grow older they can go into the detail.
Invite people to the kindergarten graduation who are good communicators particularly when it comes to children. This will pay off in the long run because everyone will understand what is going on. If you invite a very boring speaker then your party will fall flat on its face, causing you damage and destroying the reputation that you may have built. It will also not be a particularly pleasant experience for the children.
Be innovative in the way that you research and disseminate the memorable quotations for the kindergarten graduation. One family impressed me with a front hall display with post stick notes that held all the things that people had thought about the event. They also had a guest book which allowed for more formal compliments. Imagine the joy of that child when they grow up and see the history of their kindergarten graduation reflected in the written quotations.
Remember that the quotations will also include reflections from all those who participated in the organization and implementation of the kindergarten graduation ceremony. It is therefore fitting that the children themselves are given the opportunity to express their own personal thought about the proceedings. This is what the Montessori system is all about. The occasion belongs to the child and they are stakeholders who must be allowed to express themselves.

You the parent also have a role to play in the creation of the memorable quotes. At a later stage your child might be interested to note your perspective on proceedings.

Organize Your Child For Back to School

If you're looking for back to school activities, you can make this the best school year for your son or daughter by getting them organized. Together you can create a mentally stimulating study environment complete with personal habits that will last a lifetime.

A comfortable study environment

Create an area for your child to call their own. It should feel comfortable for doing homework. Let the child participate in the organization process because if he doesn't like the space he won't use it. Children seem more motivated to replicate positive school habits when the home environment is similar to their classroom. This means no distractions (music, television, or video games), good lighting and the tools needed within reach.

Clutter is very distracting for both adults and children. An organized study area makes it simple for kids to find things they need and helps them to avoid wasted time looking for study tools.

Create A Home for Everything

For younger children: Containerize (baskets or bins) all their stuff in categories. Store your child's toys according to the activity, for example: building blocks, books, cars, dolls and art. Label containers so your child knows what goes in each of these boxes. For "pre-readers" put a picture next to the word to assist with word recognition. For small children, "lid-less" or flip-top containers are better than ones that snap on and off.

Teach pre-teens and teens to set up a filing system for school. A filing cabinet or filing box with color-coded files for each subject is a great way to start preparing your child for managing his work. The corresponding colors can then be reused in the schedule/day planner, making it easy for them to coordinate homework and notes.

It's all in the Routine

Train children to come home and follow a routine. For example, a good friend has the following routine set-up for her six-year old. YES! A six-year old:

The first thing he does is go to the kitchen and unload his lunchbox (in the dishwasher - if you can be that lucky!)
Puts his school paperwork for mom/dad to review/sign in the designated folder (designate one area and use it consistently)
Takes his backpack to his designated study area
Has afternoon snack
When he's done with homework, he returns his completed homework to his back pack.

Believe it or not kids LIKE having a routine and quite frankly, they need routine to learn positive habits. You might find yourself having to reinforce the habits but the payoff will show in their grades and your peace of mind.

Oh and don't forget to incorporate rewards, for example: if your child comes home at 3:00 from school, a "wind-down" time for about 30 minutes is nice for having a snack, outside playtime or watching a favorite television show. It's never to early to start teaching life long positive habits.

Smart Internet Parenting Skills

We all remember that video post on social networking sites featuring no less than US President Obama calling on parents to monitor their children's internet activities. It simply relays the urgency to keep watch over what our kids may be doing online. True they are on their best behavior when they are on "POS" mode, which means Parent Over Shoulder, but children should be made aware of the consequences of what they post on cyberspace.

Make your children comfortable talking about what they do online. Open the gates of communication and ask them what they are interested in on the internet. Converse without judgment and you will discover what emotional or social needs they satisfy by engaging in online activities.

Most parents have a negative concept about the internet, but realize that this generation was born into an era of computers and virtual communication. The internet is an integral part of their lives, so don't dwell too much on just the threats posed by the internet; rather be extremely aware that they exist, but also recognize that the internet is a dynamic creative outlet or tool for your kids to explore their talents, interests and potentials.

What your children do in cyberspace is a reflection of what is going on in their lives. Most kids join social networking sites to hook up with friends virtually, but keep close watch of kids taking on a different persona when they enters cyberspace. This may be a sign that they have been ostracized and have to put up with some pretensions just to be acceptable.

Explain the effects of revealing too much of their personal details without being antagonistic. Children will feel protected rather than challenged if you constructively warn them that once their photos, messages or blogs go online, these are no longer under their control.. So many kids don't understand how this influences other people's judgment on their characters, so present them a simple analogy and ask if what they post is something they will want their employer to know about, say five years from now when they step into their career paths.

Wooden Puzzles to Increase Mind Creativity of Your Children

In everything, the colors and the design is one of the key ingredients for a product to sell. The hues you choose can make or break whatever it is you are promoting. Bold colors like red easily grab the attention of people. Settling for the more subtle colors as pink can also attract individuals but does not have much impact. Just like in wooden puzzles, people look at the design first before deciding to buy it. Considering the price is yet another thing to remember.

There are many puzzle designs to choose and surely, you will find one that you like best. For children, cartoon characters are popular among them. Since kids love items with their favorite cartoon characters and puzzles is definitely something they can add to their collection. Children puzzles are not so hard to complete because the puzzle pieces are big and there is not so many of them. Kids can finish this in no time. They can even have a contest on who completes the puzzle the fastest. At least they enjoy playing with it rather than just letting it sit on one corner of the house.

As for the adults, there is a wider range of designs. For individuals who love fantasy, there are wooden puzzles about fairies and unicorns. They have a different aura once you see the puzzles. It is so inviting that you feel like you want to purchase it. You admire the beauty of these mythical creatures and the closest things you can get to these are the items that have them as their design. The puzzles come in different sizes so just choose which you want. You will have fun finishing the puzzle once you start it. That excitement sinks in when you see that you are almost done.

Some puzzles have famous paintings or portraits as their designs. One of the most popular is the Mona Lisa. Her smile just amazes everyone because she looks like she knows something that people would not be able to know. Using Baby Learning Toys to Develop a Baby's Senses

If you're a new parent, or getting ready for a new baby, you've probably read about infant developmental, or stimulation, toys at one point. These toys, also called baby learning toys, are designed to develop a child's five senses. A baby doesn't have fully clear senses for the first six months, and this includes blurred vision, fuzzy hearing, and hands that can't fully grasp onto things. Baby learning toys are geared toward developing these three senses - touch, hearing, and sight - first before the other two, and specific developmental toys have these three aspects exaggerated. From black, white, and red patterned mobiles to musical toys that make loud or jingling sharp sounds to a variety of textures, toys designed for stimulation make sensory experiences exaggerated for a baby to start developing these senses.

Objects in black, white, and red is the latest trend in baby learning toys. Nearly any object in or near a baby's crib is often designed in black, red, and white solid colors and patterns to stimulate a baby's vision. Such objects include mobiles, crib and baby books, teething rings, and stuffed animals. Stimulation mobiles, in particular, add variety to this color scheme by having interchangeable cloth animals or cards designed in black and white. This can range from various patterned animals to cards depicting patterns, shapes, and baby faces all designed with black, white, and red.

Stimulation is done with textures and sounds for other baby toys. For the former, dolls and play mats are designed with various sounds that a baby will hear when he or she touches, holds, or rolls over something. For dolls, a cloth doll may have a bell inside that makes jingling sounds when a baby picks it up, and a portion of the doll, such as the arms, may be filled with a beanbag-like material to create a crinkling sound. The cloth of the doll may have soft ridges, like corduroy material, at points and be flat at others for a texture the baby can feel. In addition, baby learning toys may play music or make other sounds when a baby presses or touches the toy.

How to Teach Children Social Skills Through a Playground

For many children daycare, preschool, and kindergarten is the first contact outside of the family with other children. All the lessons about sharing and being nice that Mom and Dad have tried so hard to teach don't really come into play until they are forced to interact with other kids their own age. When playing on the playground (or in a classroom) children are forced to relearn their social skills in an environment of peers-not adults who will give in to tantrums and sweet smiles. Because of this, a playground can be the perfect place to reinforce lessons taught at home and in school regarding social niceties.

It can also be an important place as it teaches lessons that may not be learned anywhere else. Through experiences such as standing in line for the slide, waiting to use the swings, playing together with toys, and even waiting to talk to Mom, children are able to learn about sharing, patience, and taking turns. Although they may have been taught to share before, having to practice it when playing with another child will teach the lesson much better than listening to Mom repeat it at home. Taking turns on the swing or slide helps children see that the world doesn't revolve entirely around them. Children will quickly learn for themselves that others will not want to play with them if they are not kind.

Although most children do not have the vocabulary to express these concepts, kindness and niceness are definitely recognized during playtime, and children are naturally drawn to those kids who are nice to everyone. A quick check from the adult in charge usually will also help a mean or selfish child understand how to play nice, not just why.

Occasionally, however, there is more involved than angels playing. Sometimes playgrounds have bullies or manipulative children who can hurt others. Playgrounds are a great place to learn to stand up for oneself. A child is able to stand their ground and explain they don't like the actions of another, but can still get an adult involved if necessary (there should always be an adult around playgrounds for safety's sake).

Playgrounds also provide a safe place to learn about how to be social. Children's conversations can take place, helping communication skills to grow. Moral and ethical lessons can be taught both at the time and afterward in discussion. An example of this would be when Tony pushed Alice down. Alice has a choice, whether to communicate how hurtful this was to Tony, to push back, or to run to an adult. Alice's Mom now has the chance to discuss the right thing to do with Alice. This scenario wouldn't have presented itself without the playground scene.

Apart from these reasons, there are many other benefits of social play on playgrounds, whether at daycare, schools, or parks. Many of these benefits are physical. A child who plays at a playground will quickly learn how he fits into space, the limits and wonders of his own body, and to love being active and fit. These lessons will continue with him throughout his life, and will help him in the years to come. Playgrounds are important to a growing child so that he can grow not only physically, but socially as well.

Preschool Theme Lesson Plans

Why Use Themed Lesson Plans?

Preschool themes are not essential for a successful preschool lesson, but they do help bring everything together and keep students engaged in learning.  For that reason, preschool themes are highly encouraged to help teachers save time and energy in their planning.

Preschool themes also help teachers show students how different things can be interrelated.  It allows them to dig deeper into the theme and explore it from different angles.

How to Use Themes

Once a teacher has chosen a theme, the next requirement is to determine how to fit a lesson into the constraints of the theme.  There should be several components to a themed lesson.  The first would be the main objectives, whether they are to teach geography or animals or new vocabulary.  These objectives should tie back to the theme.  For example, if the theme is animals, the learning objective could be to teach rainforest animals and the reason for their colors.

Next, the lesson should have a physical activity to get students moving around and involved.  This activity could be a song, dance, scavenger hunt, or follow-the-leader game.  Again, the activity should tie back to the theme and allow students to explore it further.  If the theme is animals, students could imitate animals and require students to guess the correct animal.

Finally, the lesson should include a craft project.  This project should engage students creatively, encouraging them to use art to express themselves and learn more about the theme.

Sample Themes

Because preschoolers are interested in the world around them, good themes tie back into the things they see everyday.  The following list is a good starting point for preschool teachers needing the ease of flexibility and a way to tie everything together.

o Automobiles
o World geography
o Mountains and volcanoes
o In the kitchen
o Pets
o At the zoo
o Weather
o Flowers
o Vacations
o Winter activities
o Holidays
o Seasons

Daily vs. Long Term Themes

Teachers who use preschool themes have a few options when it comes to the length of the theme.  They can either choose a theme for a day or one for longer.  Anything less than a day is not long enough for students to understand the connectedness of the activities.

If teachers want to expand preschool themes for a week or longer, they must choose a broad enough theme that all the days can tie together in some way.  For example, if the theme is weather, Monday could be the basic elemental movements making up weather, Tuesday natural disasters, Wednesday the water cycle, Thursday clouds, and Friday can tie it all together.

Final Thoughts on Preschool Themes

Preschool themes can help teachers tie lessons together and explore ideas in a deeper way than they otherwise could with less time.  Themes should be no shorter than one day, but can be much longer, such as a week or even more.  Themes should be broad enough that teachers can touch on many different aspects, but should be focused enough that students can see the connectedness of the ideas.

Happy kids want? - Teach them to take their time!

I just read an amazing article. It gives us a key to happiness. And we all want our children to be happy! What makes people happy? What leads people to say they were satisfied with their life? And 'money? - NO! It's time. After the time leads to happiness.

We have all heard that more money does not make us happy. Helps low income, but just do not do middle class, not money much, much happier. When the Beatles sang many years ago, money can not buyLove. And money can not buy happiness either. Even Henry Ford said he was happier if it were a mechanical work. All her money will not buy much happiness.

So what make people happy, if not called it money well-being, as researchers are there? What makes people happy is the prosperity of time. People who have time to be happy. People who like to control their time. If you are not in a hurry and do not feel that their lives are happy frenzy. This is what weteach our children.

This is probably not news to many people. We already knew that the rich are not much happier than the middle class. Of course, if you can not buy your basic needs as food, clothing or live in a place, will be unhappy. But once you meet your basic needs, you are just as likely to be happy, like Donald Trump or Bill Gates. And if you have enough money to be happy, have the time, an even bigger impact on your happiness.

We all want our children to behappy, so the first thing we must do is ensure they get enough of an education to a dignified life. This is fairly easy and most of us can check that off our list. But all this does is make them "ticket" eligible for the happiness of life. There is little to save. How can we ensure that our children are happy?

We must teach our children to value their time and make good use of time. How can we do? We can begin with an appreciation of our time. When was the last timeThey explained that you are happy to spend time with what you want. If you are on holiday they say - so feel your children: "I'm so happy that I have time with my family"? What for dinner? Sunday morning? If you listen to your children that you appreciate your time, they also enjoy their time.

What is hectic and rushed with emotion? The best way to avoid this is to have smooth transitions between activities. Do you have smooth transitions? Have you finishedYour breakfast, then calmly kiss your children, whistling as you leave the house every morning? Or are your breakfast dishes in the sink, crying because you can not find the car keys and travel to the dogs because you are late for work? It 'very important to smooth transitions. This is why many kindergarten teachers will sing while the children are cleaning the form of a 'business and the way to another. At the end of a gradual and peaceful transition. This is allimportant to teach your children.

Part of the reason that people have more time, are unhappy because they have more "and when they are called, something the researchers awareness. Mindfulness of respect for life is what you. For example, how often you drive somewhere and have no memory of how you got there? How often do you eat something and you are not aware that you eat? How often are distracted and not paying attention?

So this gives us evento find another way to happiness and help our children to be happy. Show them to manage their time well and to help them, not frantic. And we must teach our children "aware" of being present in the moment. And that is the subject of another article will be!
